Joe Mickum began working as a Contractor
more than twenty years ago, as a carpentry subcontractor for large builders.
After becoming licensed in Maryland and the District in 1989, Joe became a
General Contractor and started his own business, Mickum Builders,
focused on additions and renovations.
Joe expanded his focus five years ago and now builds custom homes,
and extensive period renovations.

American Institute of Architects (AIA) award for Minority AIDS building in Washington DC.
1860's schoolhouse period restoration/renovation in Middleburg, VA featured on Home and
Garden TV and the Washington Post.
