Joe Mickum began working as a Contractor more than twenty years ago, as a carpentry subcontractor for large builders. After becoming licensed in Maryland and the District in 1989, Joe became a General Contractor and started his own business, Mickum Builders, focused on additions and renovations.

Joe expanded his focus five years ago and now builds custom homes, and extensive period renovations.
